Plastic pipes

We have created and patented a special system for the internal treatment of polyethylene pipes used in district heating systems for transporting hot fluids from thermal power plants and intended for the heating of residential and industrial complexes.

The corona treatment is performed on the interior of pipes to improve the bonding of the insulating polyurethane foam used to protect the "steel pipe-insulating material" complex.

Our system can be adapted to pipes of different diameters. The treatment station comes in two models:

TTU - 500

For pipes with diameters from 90 mm to 500 mm and a maximum thickness of 8 mm.

TTU - 1000

For pipes with diameters from 400 mm to 1000 mm and a maximum thickness of 15 mm.

The patent creator is Mr Benelli Diego, co-founder of the company Ferrarini & Benelli.

The system in fact solves the problem of ensuring treatment that is homogeneous and not localised, on the entire inner surface, even with tubes of different diameters and thicknesses.

Compared to existing systems for the treatment of pipe interiors, the invention is highly advantageous and more flexible, not requiring the replacement of the internal electrode when the diameter of the pipe to be treated varies within a certain range.

The system also performs external treatment, useful for the improvement of bonding of the printing ink used for marking.

Why corona treatment?
Why corona treatment?

The primary effect of the corona treatment is to activate the surface of the film, that is,to increase the surface energy measured in dyne per centimetre (dyne/cm).
